Phubby™the Wrist Cubby is a light weight comfortable solution for holding a cell phone. This unique item is functional, as well as a fashion accessory. Oh my goodness, Women over 45 and their younger friends will just love this one! Perfect for Dad’s and Grads!
Phubby’s are an innovative approach to carrying a cell-phone on your wrist. One can view incoming calls and even operate the touch screen directly through the fabric. The Sport version of thePhubbyis manufactured from a breathable washable mesh fabric. Shut your potentially annoying ring tone OFF and “Feel the Vibration”. Never miss another call with your phone conveniently located on your wrist, not buried in your hand bag or back pack. A Phubby is particularly handy when your clothes don’t have a convenient pocket. Headphones easily attach through the pocket for listening to music while exercising for walkers, bikers, or runners. The extra pocket on the reverse side also can be used to hold a key, ID, Bluetooth or a few extra dollars.
Chief Blonde Remarks: I first saw Phubbys at the 2010 CES. Trust me once you see a Phubby, you will want one. Phubbys are just as fun and useful as they look. So light that I keep mine in my purse for handy use wherever I am. They come in every color imaginable AND you can just operate your device (Phone, Ipod, etc.) right through the fabric. For the blondes and women over 45, I must say I highly recommend this–no more missed calls or rifling around in your purse for your phone! At first, you feel a little like”George Jetson” but in a crowded room or during a sports activity, you so quickly see the Phubby’swww.phubby.com value. $12.95 on at the Website

McLean, Va. (Apr. 2, 2010) —USA TODAY, the nation’s top-selling print newspaper, today announced the USA TODAY App for iPad will be available tomorrow on the App Store. Access to the App will be free until July 4, 2010 courtesy of our launch partner, Courtyard by Marriott. After the initial launch period the App will be available via a fee-based subscription.
The USA TODAY App for iPad features the signature look and design that readers have come to trust from USA TODAY providing them with eye catching photos and graphics while delivering the latest award-winning USA TODAY content in a convenient interactive package. Rich media advertising for the USA TODAY App will be powered by Gannett’s PointRoll subsidiary.
“We are so pleased to be available for iPad on day one. This is a product we knew we wanted to be a part of from the moment it was announced,” said David L. Hunke, president and publisher of USA TODAY. “We also couldn’t be happier to have our partner, Courtyard by Marriott, involved in the first-ever digital extension of our hotel newspaper program. We think our readers will really be thrilled with this premium App.”

Chief Blonde’s Remarks: We sure would like an opportunity to review one of these for our Still Blonde after all these YEARS! audience of Women over 45. We currently have an Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL which we use extensively for our blog including easy access at trade shows– it’s amazingly easy to use and surf the web. Reviewers are paralleling the Ipad with an Itouch–only bigger! As we think the Ipod Touch is GREAT–we’d like to contrast the two. Exciting times in Consumer Electronics! Criticism so far seems to focus on the fact that it’s not SOOO powerful but given that it combines basic computer, e-reader, ipod, and probably soon camera/video–it will probably work wonders for our readers. We’ll try our hardest to get one to review, maybe even a Giveaway?!
Here’s some basic details:
The iPad
Price: $499 for 16 GB, $599 for 32 GB, and $699 for 64 GB. Add $130 for 3G capability. Look for pricing to come down quickly–think the Iphone!
Data: Optional and no contract. $14.99 for 250 MB a month or $29.99 for unlimited.
When? End of March for WiFi-only version, end of April for 3G version.
Battery life: Reportedly 10 hours.
Other stuff: An 30-pin dock connector port (like iPods and iPhone), a speaker, a microphone, Bluetooth, accelerometer and a compass.
What the company says:
Apple® today introduced iPad, a revolutionary device for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, reading e-books and much more. iPad’s responsive high-resolution Multi-Touch™ display lets users physically interact with applications and content. iPad is just 0.5 inches thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds— thinner and lighter than any laptop or netbook. iPad includes 12 new innovative apps designed especially for the iPad, and will run almost all of the over 140,000 apps in the App Store. iPad will be available in late March starting at the breakthrough price of just $499.
“iPad is our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPad creates and defines an entirely new category of devices that will connect users with their apps and content in a much more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before.”
iPad syncs with iTunes just like the iPhone and iPod touch, using the standard Apple 30-pin to USB cable, so you can sync all of your contacts, photos, music, movies, TV shows, applications and more from your Mac or PC. All the apps and content you download on iPad from the App Store, iTunes Store and iBookstore will be automatically synced to your iTunes library the next time you connect with your computer.
Apple also announced the new iBooks app for iPad, which includes Apple’s new iBookstore, the best way to browse, buy and read books on a mobile device. The iBookstore will feature books from major and independent publishers.
At the 2010 CES (Consumer Electronic Show) in Las Vegas, Nevada we received a review sample of MusicSkins. They gave us a really cool pre-printed design skin to apply to the front and back of our Ipod Touch (they have skins for most devices and it’s compatible with all accessories, cases and docks). When you visit them online at www.MusicSkins.com/Downloads you can add matching wallpaper to your Device so that the Skin and your Wallpaper coordinate. How cool is that? We were also given a code so that we could design our very own skin with custom tools. It was super fun–just kind of hard to decide what picture to settle on! This would be an excellent gimmick for a company as a giveaway. We had to apply the front skin twice (okay, so maybe the directions weren’t read the first time around…). We liked them as they were easy to apply, left no residue when removed and helped to protect our Ipod touch for fingerprints and scratching. It was a great way to personalize, without the extra bulk of a case! Loved this product–would highly recommend for companies to consider as a giveaway!
