It’s time to get the holiday cards out in the mail, but who wants to wait in line at the post office let alone tackle the tedious chore of writing, addressing and mailing them? Plus, by now you are really really late for mailing them! Animoto® (http://animoto.com), the video creation website that lets anyone quickly and easily create professional-quality videos from their own photos, video clips, music and text, now has Animoto video greetings, the most fun, personal and easy way to send online holiday cards this year. Great for you last minute people!
With Animoto, you can easily create festive and personalized holiday video greeting, all from personal photos and video clips gathered throughout the year. Just upload your favorite digital photos and videos, pick a song, add text and, Animoto takes care of the rest– beautifully animating your 2009 memories in minutes. 30-second videos are free and full-length ones are just $3 (yes! It will only cost you $3 TOTALfor all your Christmas cards!) – and both can be shared with friends and family through email, blogs, YouTube, Twitter, social networks and mobile devices like the iPhone. For $5, you can even download high-resolution videos to your computer for the perfect stocking stuffer!
Animoto gives you the choice of three holiday themes for designing a specialized video greeting:
· Pop-up Pandemonium – a pop-up card turns into a pop-up world of hidden wonder and surprise
· Starry Night – images embark on a whimsical odyssey over land and sky, through rich textures and warm holiday scenery
· Pandora’s Gift Box – a surprise-filled gift box erupts into a shower of lights, colors, and wrapping, taking your pictures and video clips along for the ride
Chief Blonde’s Remarks: All I can say is this website is awesome and really really fun! Any series of pictures make the greatest video cards or video clips. You don’t have to be any kind of a computer genius to do it either. Really simple. You can make 30 sec clips for free and email or post to facebook or you can pay a one time fee of $3 or $30 for unlimited video all year! If you want to get really crafty, you can get the professional version ($249) and have professional high quality videos all year! I am leaning towards that option. I had a Christmas party on Friday night, Saturday morning I uploaded the pictures to Animoto and in about 15 minutes total, I had a cool video which I sent to all my friends who were at the party.
You can watch my video that I created for my website in the clip at the beginning of this article. Pretty cool huh? You will notice some of the pictures are low quality so that’s what shows up in the video. You will notice that the higher quality pictures look better. If I did the whole thing in high res, then I think it would look pretty awesome. I wish they would give you the chance to see what it would look like in high res and see if it would be worth shelling out the $5 on a one time basis or $249 for the year! That’s my only criticism. I am getting my dad the $30 version for Christmas. Animoto makes it really easy to gift the subscription to anyone who loves to make videos of their pictures!
