What’s the easiest Christmas Cookies that you whip up TODAY?
Jen S. , one of our beloved readers, Cream Cheese Cookie Recipe
GAAHHH!! You need to make some Cookies Right Now? What’s the Easiest Christmas Cookies I can whip up with ingredients I have in my pantry right now?
Cream Cheese Cookies:
Ingredients:
2 packages of cream cheese, softened
1 cup Crisco
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 egg yolks
2 cups flour
Maraschino cherries, halved
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350
Mix all ingredients together until just blended
Drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart
Top each with half a cherry
Bake until edges are slightly brown, maybe 15-20 minutes
Some people also put half a walnut on top instead of a cherry. Or you could pop a chocolate Kiss on when you remove from the over. Also, these cookies taste amazing topped with a lemon glaze! Enjoy!
Thanks Jen S. for this amazing recipe! Here’s what she has to say about it:
I have never seen these anywhere and have never heard of anyone else making them. I don’t know if my Great Grandmother made them up or if they were really around in Poland…where she came from.”

I’m going to try this with both the chocolate and the glaze (for whatever reason, I’m not fond of nuts in my cookies). Hope it still works with vegan cream cheese…I haven’t ventured into much nondairy baking since becoming allergic to dairy. Day to day stuff was hard enough, but I think it’s time to experiment! (If anyone has some tips, please let me know!)

My easy cookie recipe: 1 cake mix (any flavor), 1/2 cup oil, 2 eggs, 1 cup of anything (choc chips, chopped candy, dried fruit, etc.). Mix well. Spoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Makes apx. 3 dozen.
Merry Christmas!

By any chance was your mom Polish? I have never seen or heard of these outside of my family. The recipe was passed down from my Great Grandmother who came over from Poland.
